Hiiro no Kakera started out as a game and has now been made into an anime. Going from game to anime can be really good or really bad, and in this case it is bad.
In Hiiro no Kakera the main character Tamaki comes to live with her grandmother. On the way to her house she runs into some gods and is in trouble, until a man comes and saves her. When she gets to her grandmother’s house she finds out why she is able to see the gods and that she has the blood of a princess. Then she meets a lot of new protectors.
If this show sounds the least bit interesting to you then please reconsider. The story is slow, boring, and at some points hard to follow because they just skip around. Remember this is just about the first episode. The whole story feels like they took cutscenes from the game and placed them together to make an anime. Most of the time she is just collecting men and learning a tiny bit about them. This is just like adding members to her party in a game. I know that the source was a game, but that doesn’t mean it has to be this bad. Also the story has been done before in a better way, many times.
The art for this show is pretty bad. Looking at the show it just looks old because the art is worse than shows that came out years ago. I had to keep checking to make certain this was in fact a new anime.
Who thought this character design was ok?
The character designs are all very generic. The guys all look like people from other shows with nothing that makes them stand out except for the one guy that is very short. The first god that appears looks like a child’s drawing which doesn’t surprise me in this horrible show, but who would say that was a good design. The drowned gods look like hefty bags with eyes on them.
There is just nothing good to say about this show. The best thing they could do would be to stop this show right here and save some money.

Thank you for saying this about this game/show. The game is agonizingly paced like an anime, and it’s reassuring to know that it still doesn’t transfer well to another medium. They really need to stop making Otome games that are like rough pitches for an anime show.
