Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko is about a boy named Yoto who is very perverted. Yoto hides most of his perversion behind a facade most of the time, except when he is with his friend who is equally perverted. One day when Yoto is discussing his facade with his friend when Ponta reveals that he has given up being perverted. Ponta did not do it on his own; he had help from the Stony Cat. This gives Yoto the idea to go to the Stony Cat to get rid of his facade. Yoto meets up with Tsukiko there and the two of them wish to get rid of their burdens. Unfortunately both of them find out it is not as great as they thought it would be.
The premise for Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko at first glance is a bit original, but underneath it is just the girl holding something of the guy’s hostage premise in disguise. The only difference is that Yoto has to get Azusa to give up his facade without her understanding what is going on. Also it could go wrong because he might not be the one most in need of a facade. Just because he is getting beaten up does not mean he is the best candidate.
In the first episode the characters are not fleshed out much, but in the second episode Azusa’s character gets fleshed out some. Azusa is doing everything in her power to be the untouchable princess so that no one hurts her like her friends at her previous school did. Unfortunately, Yoto and Tsukiko do not know that and accidentally hurt Azusa’s feelings. Knowing more about Azusa’s situation has made me more attached to this show.
Overall Yoto has already pulled out an interesting way to get Azusa to give up her facade. I wonder what else he will do.
