Galilei Donna is about the descendents of Galileo Galilei, the three Ferrari sisters. They are being hunted down, so that they can reveal where the inheritance of Galileo can be found. Air pirates and the police are involved in trying to get them to reveal the information. The sisters at first all appear to be useless, but the youngest sister at least has some skills because she managed to make an airship based off of plans she found. That airship is the key to rescuing her sisters.
Galilei Donna has a plot that does not make any sense. If the family has a secret they are trying to protect that has to do with being the descendents of Galileo then why are they announcing who they are? It would make it a bit easier to protect if people had to figure out who the descendants were before coming after them. Instead the mom is chewing out her daughters about not living up to Galileo in front of everybody. Also is the viewer really supposed to believe a young girl could make a huge airship and mech without her parents noticing? How would she get the money? Even if her family is super rich her mom was keeping some tabs on her, so how would her informant fail to miss the mech she is working on for three years? Those are just the weird things if I actually believe a young girl could just make a fancy airship all by herself. Ok with just the help of her goldfish.
The best part of this show is the airships. They appear to all be modeled after fish. Hozuki’s airship appears to have a real fish that helps out somehow. It would be interesting if the fish were really important to the airships somehow. What does a fish know about flying?
Overall even after watching two episodes Galilei Donna is pretty confusing. There is nothing to draw me in and I do not get a good feeling about the direction this show is going in.
Every time I see this airship I think fuck yeah Seaking.
