Ebiten starts with an episode about initiating a new member into the astronomical club, so that their club will not be dissolved. There is not a lot to describe about this show, so I am not making a description. For a good portion of the show they are stripping one of the members, so this show is not for children.
The characters in Ebiten all follow Todayama who has high expectations for the club. This club requires two crazy tests to be performed. Kanamori is just a victim who constantly has people mess with her fujoshi magazines, strip her, and tie her up. Noya is trying to get into the club and does not seem all that surprised by the crazy test despite the fact that this is supposed to be a normal astronomy club. The rest of the characters are a blur and show no traits at this point.
The story for the first episode of Ebiten made me want to run away like Noya should have. They are not going to let Noya in unless Noya can beat them at their own crazy hijinks. The hijinks are probably supposed to be sexy, funny or even both. I do not see any promise for this show. Ebiten went straight into the crazy with little introduction to anyone and there is no indication of what kind of club they are at first. Except everything about this show says that they are all fujoshi. So expect antics and fujoshi in the future. Also Noya is supposed to be a boy from what I understand despite the girls clothing. Not looking forward to when that comes up. Oh wait I am not watching anymore.
Overall I would not suggest Ebiten to anyone. The characters are not well defined, which can sometimes work in comedy, but that would imply this show is funny. No story at all just hijinks. I guess maybe fujoshi would like it, but it probably is not even appealing to them.
Status: Not Watching EVER AGAIN
This is what I was like when I realized I should watch Ebiten and write about it today. I had heard it was bad and it didn’t surprise me at all.
