Dog and Scissors is about a school boy that is killed during a robbery and turned into a dog. The boy is not ready to die yet because he wants to read the an upcoming book from his favorite author before he dies. He comes back as a dog, but is in misery because there are no books to read. When he is thinking about how much he hates his new life Kirihime Natsuno comes and picks him up from the pet shop. Her original plan is to kill him off with her scissors, but she changes her mind. She agrees to keep him if he will quit barking and just talk to her mind to mind. Also it turns out she is his favorite author.
Dog and Scissors is pretty weird already. There is mind reading, body swapping, a girl stripping for a dog and all in the first episode. There could be an interesting show in all this with finding the boy a way to get a different body or having the dog help Kirihime to write her best book through their experiences. Also finding out why Kirihime is so obsessed with scissors could be interesting.
The comedy in Dog and Scissors has most centered around two things: abusing the dog and Kirihime’s flat chest. This is already getting pretty old, since it was not funny to begin with. Hopefully after the first episode it will move away from those subjects, but the chances of that are slim. I mean they had many built-in jokes with the shopkeeper that kept birds in his hair and did not do anything with that.
Between Kazuhito and Kirihime neither of them are particularly interesting characters at this point. Kazuhito is just obsessed with books to the point where he does not even care about people. That has taken over all of his personality. Kirihime is a typical perfect ojou-sama that likes to dominate others. I can only hope that the two of them will show some growth very soon.

Overall this show could be interesting if the comedy goes in a new direction or they focus on the weird story. Chances are it will go further downhill very quickly.

Most pointless scene goes to the flashback scene. We have only known Kazuhito for a minute, so none of those people or situations mean anything to the viewer. After showing how little he cared about his parents for contrast they could have just skipped to the part with the book.
