Cuticle Tantei Inaba is about a detective agency where a man with wolf DNA solves all the cases. Recently the goat villain Valentino moved into the area to make counterfeit money. He has stayed on to punish Inaba for what wolves did to goats in a story. The story follows Inaba trying to defeat Valentino when he commits crimes. These first impressions are based on the first and second episodes.
Cuticle Tantei Inaba is not a serious detective show, so if that is what you are looking for this is not for you. This show is a comedy and in the first episode the jokes are all over the place coming one after the other. By the second episode the pace and jokes are better. So if you have only watched the first episode give it another shot for the second episode.
Jokes range from dog jokes to extreme love for Ogino’s daughter.
The best thing about Cuticle Tantei Inaba are the villains Valentino and Lorenzo. Valentino is a mob boss who is a goat and has a hard time telling the difference between reality and fantasy. Lorenzo has a bag over his face and wears traditional Japanese clothing. He is totally dedicated to Valentino. The jokes about the two villains are generally better than the ones about the rest of the cast.
The whole main cast are guys and they are all over each other most of the time. Hopefully this will not devolve into too many jokes about relationships between people in the group. The only cast member that appears to be interested in women is Ogino and he is more interested in his daughter than his wife.
The ending to the show is also very nice. It stars Valentino singing the ending theme and dancing.
Overall this show is hit or miss. Like most off the wall comedies it goes from good to very bad at times.
