Acchi Kocchi is a romantic comedy about two friends that like each other, but won’t officially hook up for some reason.
Acchi Kocchi starts with Tsumiki and Io meeting up. Io has a bike and Tsumiki doesn’t so Io is a gentleman and walks with her. Then two other friends meet up with them and start to give Tsumaki a hard time because they were watching before they came over. After Tsumaki gets her revenge they eventually get to school where they watch their teacher and friend fall down on a banana peel. When they all get to class they find out the heater is broken and they get Mayoi to fix it. They go through all the memorable parts of their day at school and after school they go to the arcade.
Acchi Kocchi is just about as boring as that description of it sounded. The whole thing goes through a whole school day for them and their school isn’t that exciting. This is based off a 4 koma so it should be short comedy segments. Except a lot of these segments are missing the comedy or anything interesting in them. When their is comedy it is generally sight gags or one of the characters picking on Tsumaki and Io since they like each other, but are not a couple.
The couple in this show is really difficult to watch at some points. They are so shy I just wanted to force them to admit their feelings, but obviously I can’t. Everyone else knows what is going on, but them.
The artwork in this show is very cute down to the huge cat ears that grow out of Tsumiki’s head when she is around Io. They are pretty lazy about the backgrounds though. Sometimes they don’t even bother to draw them in.
Overall this show is pretty bland. There isn’t much going on and it isn’t very funny.
