Farming Simulator for Consoles Release Info

As anyone knows a game that works on PC won’t always work on consoles. However Focus Interactive is going to make their bid anyway with Farming Simulator for consoles. We have some basic information and a release date for you right here.

Farming Simulator Vehicles

The Differences from Farming Simulator PC

So far the company has been somewhat cryptic about this. From what it looks like so far they are going to try to keep the game as close to the original as possible. However they have mentioned some new additions that they will be putting in such as:

  • New vehicles that will show up for the first time on consoles
  • An American farming environment

That seems to be about it. It looks like the game will be a bit of an expansion to the original.

Why Farming Simulator for Consoles is Interesting

The main reason we find it interesting is that it seems like a strange or perhaps even unwise move. The console crowd right now is very different from the PC crowd, although they are slowly merging. Many of us who bought this game on PC got it to stream to friends. Others got it to have a chuckle at the fact that we can pretend to farm. I doubt very many bought it for the visceral combat that the industry thinks console gamers demand.

What if Farming Simulator on Consoles Succeeds?

If it does succeed then we will be quite surprised. It will mean there is a market for off-beat games not just on PC but also in many other markets. It could really open doors for some developers who didn’t think their game would work in that arena. The game is going to be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 4th. They will also be having a preview at Gamescom from the 21st to the 25th in the A-010 Stand of Hall 10. If you want to find out more about this wacky title check out their main site.
