Endless Space is releasing their fourth free DLC package today. We want to go over how the game has grown so far and what the new DLC brings.
The 4th Endless Space DLC, Virtual Awakening
This new add-on brings several things to the game. Here are just a few:
- Random events that “escalate” over turns
- New Heroes
- New environmental elements such as gas giants
- More AI improvements
- “Global Interactive Events”
- UI improvements to tooltips and an auto scrap button
As usual it is an overall improvement to the game. This is what they have been doing for a while. The AI, for example, is much better than it was originally. We hope that they continue this tradition for the life cycle of the game.
The Latest Story Addition to the Endless Space Story
The Automatons have started harvesting gas giants. A dangerous situation is even more dangerous due to a guardian from the Virtuals. Now multiple races, and a mysterious being, watch these giants. Without a doubt war is about to break out. And something very dangerous looms on the horizon. You have to decide whether the risk is worth the rewards.
Endless Space – Looking Back
When this game was first released, we supported it. However it had many problems. These included a somewhat confusing UI missing many useful elements. The AI was less than phenomenal. There were only a few races. Now we have a whole universe of races and huge UI improvements. All from free updates. This is how it should be. In the earlier days of PC gaming, we did not have to pay for updates. We should not have to today. It is a shame not all developers feel this way.
