We recently got a chance to join in on an Edge of Space developer play session. Today we are bringing you our own videos in addition to a cinematic teaser.
What We Learned from the Edge of Space Play Session
We had a very interesting play session with some developers and journalists that you can see above. Here is what we gathered:
- Later on they hope to allow players to make their own custom stats on weapons in the last levels of crafting.
- Once the net code is finished they hope to implement the ability to have over 200 players.
- There will be many useful pets to find later on. A few were in but we did not find the more interesting ones.
- Power systems and terraforming are in to add deeper elements to the gameplay.
Our only gripe with the game is that the listen server process needs to be a bit better optimized. As we also discussed the net code needs some improvement as well but we have been told that it will be improved significantly. The single player works very well so far.
The game has quite a lot of content at least. There are many ways to craft living spaces and later on you can even terraform the land. We imagine terraforming will create entirely new biomes as we saw in other games.
How to Support Edge of Space
Edge of Space is currently on Steam Greenlight. They need your support to get a full release. Of course we suggest you use your own judgment. Watch the videos and decide for yourself whether this is a game you want to support.
