While not exactly your traditional anime game Earth Defense Force 2025 is very japanese. It is also an incredibly fun series that puts you in the shoes of some enhanced humans stopping the equivalent of classic movie Kaiju.
What is New in Earth Defense Force 2025
New forms of exoskeleton are always a big part of all these games. In this case it appears there are new flying and tank models for the players. Old enemies are back but we expect some new as well. There is also a focus on mechs that look great so far. Who doesn’t like giant robots vs giant monsters?
Why Japan Loves EDF
And why we don’t get it here as much in the west. Despite being a great game the previous versions only had a cult following over on this side.
We hope that it gets more popular with this edition with battlesuits bordering on Sentai heroes and mecha everywhere. It looks like it’ll be the most over-the-top and interesting game in the series to date.
The Gameplay of EDF 2025
There is a new focus in this one on 4 player matches in the traditional third person shooter setup. Vehicles also have a multiplayer feel to them.
Why Earth Defense Force 2025 is Worth Supporting
Because it is a great series that needs a translation to PC. The closest we got was the much too short Insect Armageddon. We hope it gets a Steam translation someday so we can all enjoy it in a different form, probably at a lower cost. If anything is worth hoping for that is it.
