EA 2012 E3 Press Conference Review

The EA 2012 E3 press conference  started off with one of their biggest games, Dead Space 3. They did at least have a decent amount of gameplay shown for this game. Sadly we simply cannot get into this series, because it is a ripoff of Blue Stinger. So we’re going to have to continue not being impressed. Dead Space 3 has the co-op gameplay that has ruined the pacing of so many other games, so we are not thrilled.

EA 2012 E3 Press Conference Madden

It’s Madden Baby

As usual, they showed off Madden NFL 13. As with every single game like this, the impacts hit harder with a better engine. They are calling it the “infinity engine. It will cause your players to take injuries to their body parts. Of course we have done this dance before. Their main draw this time is connecting your gameplay with your friends through social options. They also had Michael Irving, but hey, at least it wasn’t Usher.

EA 2012 E3 Press Conference Real Simcity

They Surprised Us

Simcity is getting a Facebook game. This is no big surprise to anyone, it is called Simcity Social. However we were extremely pleasantly surprised by something else they revealed. They are releasing a new Simcity in the same vein as the old ones, but with singleplayer and multiplayer. We are quite surprised by this relaunch, but not in a bad way. This is the first thing that EA has done in a while which we have really been impressed by. So at this point, they have the best conference. For having one decent thing.

DICE Announces Battlefield 3 Premium

More DLC for Battlefield 3 was announced. To be clear, we don’t hate BF3 here, we just don’t love it as much as 2. We are hoping the game becomes really good after they are done adding these massive amounts of DLC. Until then we’ll have what little fun we can with C4. Of course if you love this series more than we do, then it could be a good deal for you. You get exclusive access to early content. For those without the money for this, well, I guess their policy is tough luck.

New Content for the Old Republic

TOR Continues Sinking

As usual, ToR continues sinking into the ground according to server stats. At the E3 conference they continued pretending nothing was wrong, as usual. In a final bid to turn it around, they will be adding the HK assassin companion that we so loved in the previous games. Will it be enough?

Medal of Honor

Is getting a new game. It will take place in Somolia. We are not overly impressed.

Fifa 13

The EA 2012 E3 Press Conference and Social Sports

NBA, NHL and several other franchises are now going mobile. You can play the games on Facebook or on your mobile phone. Fifa is going to have extensive features concerning this. This is probably a good thing for the types of people who play these games anyway. You can connect to your club from pretty much anywhere. We can’t really complain.  UFC is coming out with a new edition as well.

Need for Speed

Need For Speed – Most Wanted

Need for Speed is going social, with a multiplayer set up where you attempt to beat your friends. Will this be good or bad for the series? We honestly cannot say yet, as this could be great or a disaster depending on how it is implemented. It will be coming out October 30th.

Crysis 3

Crysis 3 Sells Itself on New, Huge Environments. Gameplay Shows Enclosed Halls and Walkways.

The draw for the new Crysis 3 is the fact that it has even more massive environments than usual. They showed off a bit of gameplay that took place on a bridge. It looks good, but does not particularly look revolutionary. After that, the conference ended. If you really liked any of this you can always check out Origin.
