Nintendo Press Conference- a big fish in a small pond
06
After lackluster performances by all their competitors, Nintendo sits poised to dominate E3 easily. We will have a stream up at some point, on the day of, but you can find it here http://e3.nintendo.com/
Also, we must all remember this:
Their first big reveals were a new Mario Kart and Star Fox, both games that could be really bad or really good. We’ll just have to wait and see. A return of the much beloved Kid Icarus in his own game. A new Pokemon game with…. scanning items? The Wii U has been announced, in an effort to make a very confusing name.
It is described as infinitely complex and will change your life by Reggie. Okay. From the trailer it allows you to ignore your dad’s baseball so you can play with your Wii in portable form. This is really how it was presented, ignoring your Dad’s baseball to play it.
There was a nice presentation on the anniversary of the Zelda series. Nintendo has been producing these games for 25 years now, with mixed results that are usually good. We can’t say too many bad things about such a legendary franchise.
Less spectacular announcements include Lego City stories, a GTA style sandbox game. We can only hope you can give lego money to lego hookers. . Unfortunately the new console lineup appears to have a large amount of lackluster third party games, including Darksiders 2 and another Tekken. On the other hand, Ninja Gaiden is coming with them and looks spectacular.
This video sums up my reaction until Ninja Gaiden. Ninja Gaiden is the dog. Overall while it wasn’t a great year for Nintendo, they easily won hands down. But then how could they lose? They had the unstoppable Reggie, a force so titanic only Gabe Newell could stop him.
