Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two basic info - Nerd Age

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2 is currently in production. It features the same interesting gameplay and beautiful art. However this time you go in with a partner, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Long ago Oswald was cast into obscurity simply due to being quite old. But he is back in the old Disney world and style. In a strange turn they will be giving a voice to Oswald, a character who normally never spoke. Apparently they are making some major changes for Disney Epic Mickey 2.

Epic Mickey 2, a world of sight and sound

The game is set to a significant soundtrack. In fact the game is described as a “musical” in which each player can “conduct”. Tunes and instrumentation will change based upon their gameplay choices. This seems like a significant departure from the action-platformer previously seen. However it still has most of the painting and platforming elements of the other games. It of course has the normal, beautiful environments that you might expect from the game. The level based on Fantasia looks quite good, as you might expect it to.

The Partnership

In this series Mickey will once again have his magical paint brush. Oswald will have a “powerful remote control” that allows him to control electricity. We can assume that you can do combo attacks between the two in order to take out powerful foes.

Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is being made by Junction Point. They did an excellent job on the previous game, so we can probably expect the same. This one will also be worked on by Blitz Games, who did such legendary games as Michael Phelps: Push the Limit. Well, let’s hope that Blitz games doesn’t cause too many problems. There is no announcement as to a release date for this game. It will be a multi-platform affair on PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.
