Day Z Guide : For Bandits - My kind of scum.- Nerd Age

Well, we know that many of you want to be bandits  in Day Z. So today we will be going over some tips for you aspiring bandits. These will likely be patched later, so use them while you can.

Night is worse for sniping, but quite useful for catching hapless opponents.

The Day Z Picard Maneuver

One thing that many bandits use is something we like to call the “Picard Maneuver”. Much like the real one from Star Trek, there is pretty much no defense. It is very easy to initiate.

1. Find somewhere that you know people are on a server. Use binoculars or find a stream to ambush.
2. Go to a server in which no one is in that area. Stay in the area you want until your character saves.
3. Move back to the other server

If you do it correctly, then you will teleport near or even behind your victim. You can then ruin their day. You can also do this at places like airfield towers to kill everyone on multiple servers. This also useful for anyone who wants to dislodge a camper.

Finding People to kill in Day Z

In the United States at least, two things happen to players. On Hardcore servers, players go inland and camp loot hard. On other servers, anything can happen but you can often find coastline newbies. Throwing a flare and yelling that you need help is very easy and efficient, and can garner you many victims. Above all make everyone on the server think you are a friendly, then shoot them when they come near. However be sure to remember they can do the same.

You can also camp item spawns such as hospitals, stores and deer stands. People are most vulnerable when looting.

The Day Z Decoy

Get a way to talk to some friends, Ventrilo, Teamspeak, etc. Have one or two of them be survivors. Have the bandit member wait for them to find someone. You do not want the two survivors to shoot them, but to be helpful. You can even give them items. Then have your survivor buddies lure the victim to a spot for an easy headshot. Then your buddies loot the body and say in chat “Oh man sniper fire, who was it? We barely got away.” Or tell them that you got the guy if someone dies around then. No one will be the wiser.

It is your duty to exploit the Day Z humanity system to the fullest

Please exploit it to the fullest so developers will fix it. It has nothing built in to cut down on people who keep blood packs to keep their humanity up. Wait around, do whatever, just reset it.  It does nothing to help those who shoot a survivor in self defense. This means that you can even trick people into shooting survivor friends. We hope that they will fix this system in the future. Until then, have fun because if they didn’t want you to do it then they wouldn’t put it in the game, right?
