Dark Souls online gets wrecked for PC- Disaster. - Nerd Age

While it is rather old news by now, we think it is important to mention why the PC edition of Dark Souls is going to be a wreck. So let us go down the myriad ways in which they are breaking this game.

PC ports usually have other problems

Often, PC ports have control issues when they first some out. SF4 is a good example of this, as it had bugs and other problems. We expect much of the same thing as with that game early on. We could even see new bugs which we previously had not expected.

They couldn’t protect the console version of Dark Souls from being hacked

I was around level 100 when I killed a SL 300 hacker who was terrible at the game. Scored multiple back shots on him while a partner distracted him. Will we see more of the same on PC? Probably not, we will probably see some even worse hacking.This is a pretty significant problem when much of the Dark Soul’s appeal comes from multiplayer.

The real problem with Dark Souls PC is Windows Live

But once again, the real problem we and pretty much everyone else has with this is that Dark Souls will be running on games for windows live. The interface is clunky at best, and it saves your old password even if you change it. Basically this hard to use interface adds an extra layer of DLC and does not do as much to combat hacking as they claim. We believe that the developers and publishers have made a mistake with this. Of course the fanbase is pretty fairly united on this, so we hope that they do not do this with any of their future games. This is a real shame to see this kind of thing coming from normally great companies such as Namco and From Software.
