DARK is the new supernatural action game coming from Kalypso. You play as a vampire dealing with a new existence and a world that wants you dead. Throughout the game you use incredible powers to stalk your adversaries.
The Story of DARK
Dark follows Eric Bane who went from being a normal man to a new vampire. He knows little about the dark world he has come into. Eric is on the run from a vampire lord, humans and even a secret society. Much of the story will center on surviving. The rest will be finding your place in the world and learning why you are so valued.
The Gameplay of DARK
Stealth is a major aspect of this game. You use your skills to attack from the darkness and kill instantly. For a fair comparison look at the Tenchu series. Things become harder if you just smash through everything. It also has an RPG-style skill system so that you can customize your character. We hope that this system will be very deep as it will make or break the game. You will also have to drain the blood or “Vitae” of others.
The other deciding factor will be the Artificial Intelligence. The developers of DARK are promising that the enemies are highly intelligent. We will have to see in the final version as this is another incredibly important part of any stealth game. One interesting aspect is that there seem to be different vision types in the game. While it produces a strange mesh of colors it should help you see prey better. This is an old mechanic that was used well in Alien vs. Predator. Let us hope it is used as well here.
