From the team that brought you Evoland comes a new multiplayer exploration game. We had mentioned it briefly but did not have nearly enough information about it to really tell you anything. Now we have a bit more to go on so we thought we would put in on your radar.
The Concept of Until Dark
Although we have more information than before, we still do not have much. There is some vague info on a team of adventurers working together to explore, build and survive.
The Until Dark Art Style
The concept art, which you can see above, looks quite good. The environments look like they are going to have a somewhat bright 3D feel to them. They are also top-down views. This could mean the game is going to end up as any number of things including:
- An online Zelda style game
- A Diablo style game
- Successor to Don’t Starve
However due to the fact that they did Evoland originally we would expect Shiro games to do something in the same type. We are wondering what is going to set it apart from other games in that genre. Unfortunately we are going to have to wait and see just like everyone else out there.
Keeping an Eye on Until Dark
Right now it is slated for a release in the second quarter of 2014. In gaming companies rarely end up with their first release schedule so we will see how long that last. If you are interested in seeing how the game develops then be sure to check out the Until Dark site. Not much is up right now, in fact hardly anything is up, but we are sure they will have something for us down the line. At the very least it will be nice to see what they do to stand out in the genre.
