Bundle in A Box and Indie Dev Grant Changes

The Indie Developer Grant and the Bundle in A Box are both changing. They are changing for the better in many ways. In this article we will go over the grant itself and mention the upcoming bundle.

How the Indie Developer Grant is changing

They have decided to go with a no-strings-attached policy. This means that all of the money will go to one developer. This is a smart move as it really helps a developer. It also helps cut out any bad press they might receive for taking some of the grant. On a personal note, we are quite impressed by this. It is what we would do in the same situation. Either to a charity or a developer, it is logical for all the money to go to someone other than those who run Bundle in a Box. If they sell enough bundles, there will also be a smaller secondary grant. However those who like to support charity may be turned off by this. However we think that this bundle has a real place in the market today. We support their sentiment that the community should help the community.

The Cerebral Bundle-in-A-Box

Unfortunately they have not released a lot of information about this new bundle. As usual you can expect some titles from underground indie developers. It seems they are diversifying, as their early bundle was way too heavy on point-and-clicks. We hope that this one has some decent variety like the last one.

There are several things to check out if you want to support the Bundle in A Box. Here are a few links for you:

You will want to check out the main bundle site a bit later. We hope that it goes up soon so that you can check out the games. For any developers out there, this is a good example of what you should do to jump-start games. Charities, jams and more can all get your game big, positive PR.
