Betrayer Early Access Spotlight

Betrayer is a new FPS with a very different art style. The game is an FPS with exploration aspects which is a genre that has been growing in popularity. We think this game has some potential and it is currently on Steam Early Access.

The Story of Betrayer

The game focuses on America at the turn of the 17th century. Something has left a colony virtually destroyed. Madness reigns along with ghosts in the area and you must defend yourself from each.  As the game goes along you find treasure that likely has something to do with the source of the madness.

The Gameplay of Betrayer

The main draw is an open world with many locations to explore. There are also of course many different weapons to use. These include axes, bows and muskets to fit with the theme. If they can make the weaponry work as well as it did in “Blood” then we are in for a treat.

About the Betrayer Staff

Blackpowder games is making this game. That might not mean much to you but they have some history. They started with Monolith Productions, or at least several of them did. While they have a storied history in gaming it really only matters what the developers with Blackpowder worked on. Craig Hubbard was involved with both Blood and Shogo, both of which were great games. Many of them also worked on F.E.A.R. which was a good game but more than a bit overrated. We hope that they design the game closer to the older and quite a bit better games. Shogo and Blood are still played today by some hardcore gamers.

Becoming a Betrayer

Right now you can get the game for $13.49 on Steam. As usual you will get the various updates and the final game when it comes out. The developers also want your feedback on the game itself. We hope that this game brings back some of the classic style that many of us enjoyed so much.
