Today we want to bring you an interesting game called Battle Worlds: Kronos. This is also an interesting article for those breaking into the industry. This is a two-part article about the game and about the struggle towards development. Either way, we should have something interesting for fans or developers. As usual the photos seen here are from a very, very early build of the game.
The Battle Worlds: Kronos Game
The game itself focuses on a turn-based world. You play two sides fighting over an alien world. Depending on which side you are playing you have to use different tactics. These vary from attrition warfare to guerrilla fighting.
The gameplay is very similar to what you might have seen from Panzer General in the past. This means a variety of units on a hex grid. If you are a fan of this type of game, this evolution of it might be for you.
Features of Battle Worlds: Kronos
The game also boasts other interesting features. Here are a few:
- Single player challenge maps
- Multiplayer in the hot seat or on the internet
- Asynchronous play so players can pause and store matches
- A ladder system for ranked play
- A map editor for Windows
- No DLC, DRM or plans of that sort
The game itself will be available for PC, Mac and Linux. It will also be playable on many different browsers.
An Era of Developer Choices
What this game teaches developers is this: If a company does not like your terms, you can leave. In the era of crowd funding, traditional companies do not have to rule everything. You can take it to any number of Kickstarter sites. We are seeing this more and more today.
Supporting Battle Worlds: Kronos
Right now their Kickstarter page is live. Donators can receive what you would expect from the game. These include:
- Digital and boxed copies
- Card games
- Music
- Clothing
- Bags
- Mentions in the credits
All of these are nice, but fairly well what we have come to expect. However if you like the game you might very much enjoy some of these benefits. We will likely also cover the game in the future.
