Ares Magazine has an interesting idea. A collection of sci-fi and a new board game in the magazine every other month. That is very, very ambitious and ambition works for us, as does innovation. While it’s not the first time this has been done with board games in periodicals, doing it bi-monthly is impressive.
What Ares Magazine Promises
Take a look at the above video first. Overall they’re promising new magazine with interesting short stories. And they’re going to be having a board game in each one as well. Basically it is everything a nerd would need in one go. Quite impressive.

The games themselves are going to be completely designed and provided to you. Counters, cards etc will all come with it. This makes the development quite a bit more expensive than other magazines. It will be interesting to see how they balance it out.
Each one will also have 80 pages of fiction. While we are unsure what the quality of that will be it seems like a decent amount to read. Hopefully they will get some excellent authors in for most of the issues. It could be great.

Right now you can of course donate and get some unexpected things from the magazine. You can even put your own advertisement in if you put in enough, as well as issues etc.
They seem to have set it up as well because they have a large amount of different levels that cost quite a bit. Several of them are hundreds to thousands of dollars. You can of course pay a little and get a copy of issue #1 though. They have already raised quite a bit and still have some time to go. So take a look and decide whether to spend your money.
