The creators of Ares Magazine are having a contest right now. Since we enjoyed their idea to combine games and writing we’re going to tell you about this as well.
The Ares Magazine Contest Itself
Just filling out a form here will get you an entry. It’s a contest for a copy of the first Ares Magazine #13 which is signed by Timothy Zahn. It’s certainly a nice collector’s item and has the story “Damocles Mission” in it. So if you are a fan of literature be sure to check it out. There are also additional entries for subscribers and social media.
Why the Ares Magazine Contest is Here
It is set up to coincide with the release of the first issue. This is something you see many companies do today. In our opinion events like these are absolutely essential when you are having a major new release.
On the Progress of Ares Magazine Itself
Since we last covered it they have done a ton of work. They are supposed to be done in June so those who contributed to their Kickstarter should look forward to it. For those who missed out be sure to visit their site.
Can the New Ares Magazine Succeed?
A big question everyone is asking is “will this new incarnation work?”. We would have to argue that they will succeed due to some very important facts:
- Tabletop gaming is bigger and lucrative than it was in the original incarnation
- Science Fiction and Fantasy also make much more money due to Game of Thrones, etc
It looks like the climate is right for this to come back. We expect to see some very big things from this newest incarnation. Writers a our site and many others will be watching the situation for some time. We would advise you to take note as well.
