AKB0048 Next Stage episode 7 is all about the process of succession. From what the person will act like after succession to what the preparations are for someone to debut as a successor.
In AKB0048 so far while there has been a lot of talk about succession since the focus is on the understudies a lot of the process was still in shadow. That is no longer the case since part of the last episode and all of the 7th episode are about the process of succession. While obviously some people are trained to become just like the person they plan on succeeding like the Tomomi girls. However in most cases the person a girl is going to succeed is not as obvious. During the succession fever they have the soul of the person they are going to succeed come into their body. That sounds pretty bad especially since the way it has been presented up to this point was that the girl is already like the person they are succeeding. If that is true then why do they need that girl’s soul to come into their body. Also it appears that some girls change a lot after their succession and some change a lot less. Does that mean that the girls who change have basically been invaded by another girl’s soul that took over their body? That they will no longer act like themselves? Also when they graduate does the soul thing go away like the name? I still have so many questions since this process is so weird.
This season there has not been a lot of drama between Kanata and Takamina until now. Takamina has asked Kanata because she was ‘curious’ if Kanata would knock Takamina out of her place to get a spot in AKB0048. Even with all the hints that Takamina dropped about Kanata being a successor for the Takamina position Kanata still does not get it. Takamina should not feel as bad now though because even hypothetically Kanata is not sure she would want to push Takamina out of her position in order to be a successor. Kanata wants everyone to work as a team and not compete like that, so I believe she would rather wait or hope that she would be able to succeed someone else and leave Takamina alone. Kanata’s team spirit really makes a lot of the other girls look selfish in comparison.
While everyone is celebrating the Mimori succession the spy is helping Zodiac figure out what is needed to achieve the center nova phenomenon. Obviously Mikako does not actually believe in the things she claims since she is helping an outside company to achieve the phenomenon she claims to hate. Next episode the DES forces should be moving in to attack AKB0048 to complete their plan. Can not wait to see some action, but since the DES forces were only pretending to be incompetent before there might be some people captured or hurt this time. Hopefully all the girls will make it out okay.
