In AKB0048 Next Stage episode 6 the pressure is on because the fans are all expecting that someone is going to become a new successor soon. They general consensus is that it will be Chieri and she will succeed Acchan. The one who actually comes down with succession fever is Mimori, so we will soon see who she will be the successor to.
Hearing the rumors about the two elected members of the understudies has made Nagisa feel even more motivated to work towards becoming a successor in AKB0048 as well. Unfortunately just like Nagisa looks towards the successors to see what was appropriate during the elections, she also was looking for inspiration in how to act to become a successor. Nagisa has always looked up to Yuuko and at this point has taken it too far. Nagisa has never felt sure that what she is doing is right because she does not want to compete. She feels it could hurt her family, or is not sure her feelings are appropriate. Hopefully after this episode where Nagisa sees that she will be left behind if she does not take and make a decision to just be herself she will be not be as hesitant.
Did not see Mimori becoming the next successor in AKBoo48. Mimori usually seemed more like a side character since most of the focus has gone to Chieri or Nagisa. Even Mimori’s partner Kanata has gotten more development over the course of the this show and the last. Just like I was worried about Mimori being elected, I am also worried something will go wrong with her succession as well. Mimori went from the background to a major player way too smoothly, so something has to happen with all this. If not then this whole story development will be pretty boring.
Yuuko is actually looking a bit better in my eyes after this episode. While she wants to be the center nova in AKB0048, Yuuko does not want to get it by default and is happier when the other girls are performing their best. She usually comes off as not caring how she gets it as long as the prize is hers, and at least she definitely wants to get it fairly.
