In AKB0048 Next Stage episode 10 the girls have crashed onto a planet and the Flying Get needs to be repaired. While the ship is being repaired the girls are exploring the planet for supplies. Orine makes friends with a native animal called the Funghi. The girls find out that Zodiac is hurting the animals to make their mining operations go more smoothly. Luckily the power of music helps the animals realize that AKB0048 are their friends and helps to destroy enemy mechs.
AKB0048 makes a transition from serious fighting episodes back to their usual more lighthearted fighting in this episode. While in the last episode it was a fight for their escape that almost ended in death this time they managed to finish off the mechs by just accidentally having a reaction to the dualium which blew them all up. Lucky for them the dualium knows who to blow up. The tone of the show really needs to stabilize. If they want to make the show serious then stick with it and make the rest of the show serious. Going back and forth between serious and off the wall is not helping this series. It probably should have just stayed with the original taking down a whole army with a micsaber craziness and left the seriousness to other shows that are not about futuristic idols fighting the man.
Like all other celebrities AKB0048 care about a cause as shown in episode 10 of Next Stage. Their cause is saving the Funghi from mining operations. If you send just a few dollars to Micsabers for Funghi they will give Funghi these micsabers which are the ultimate weapon to take down anyone. Seriously though it was not a great idea for those girls to stand up against Zodiac because they have a ship under repair and also have no way to get away from the enemy. The group would not know a good idea if it slapped them in the face though, so of course they go for it and it all works out.
The best part of this episode was the hallucination about Suzuko becoming White Jelly Mushroom the 7th. Suzuko needs more screen time.
