AKB0048 episode 8 has a sadder, darker tone than most of the episodes.
Here are the 76th generation’s getting told faces. Now get off your lazy whining butts and practice.
AKB0048 episode 8 is really trying to make sure there is no doubt that people know the 76th generation of understudies are not nice. Apparently they have a bit of a reason, but it really is not enough to warrant all the hate they are spewing. One of the 76th generation advanced before all the rest, so they are all bitter. I know it is hard to be passed over, but acting the way they do is not going to help anything. They are apparently not even practicing and working as hard as they should, but expect to be rewarded anyway. Megumi is the worst and the ringleader though. She even went so far as to try to make poor Kanata feel bad about her position. I kinda hope that something bad happens to Megumi later or she gets to watch newer girls get promoted while she stews in her own bitterness.
Suzuko is still the best and she knows how to handle nasty women.
In AKB0048 episode 8 we get a continuation of the drama from episode 7. Minami is wondering what she should do about Kanata being the next successor. Minami is unsure of herself and her decisions because all her confidence is based on her being the successor to Minami. I can understand why she is so upset. Now she knows that she is no longer the best for the job. That can really shake someone. If others do not believe in you, it is hard to believe in yourself. She doesn’t want to leave, but she does not want to cause Kanata more pain. It doesn’t help that Kanata idolizes her and she wants to be worthy of that.
Poor Minami went from being sure she could talk the manager into promoting someone to being unsure of things she has been doing for years.
There was fighting in AKB00a48 episode 8, but I did not get to enjoy it as much because of Minami freaking out the whole time. Besides it was just a standard mech battle without anything flashy or off the wall like most of the battles have. It was nice to see Kanata stepping up and doing things for herself. She did not let Megumi get her down. I hope there will be some cooler battles soon though.
Now a once strong woman is beaten down. Hope she bounces back next episode.
I wish this episode had revealed more or at least gone somewhere different. It just feels like an extension of last episode.
