In AKB0048 episode 5, the girls have their monthly day off so it is time to learn about the things they don’t tell you about being an idol. Those things include needing pheromones, not needing pheromones, the mysterious Quadruple S behind the music, and other things.
First Lesson: Do not piss off Mayu, she pinches.
Now really the pheromone thing is confusing. I can see how idols would want to attract males, so they would have an audience. I don’t know why they would they want to lessen someone’s pheromones? Plus they are upping pheromones and lessening them at the same time. I think both groups weren’t all that successful though.
Second Lesson : Don’t have too many or too few pheromones.
The lovely Suzuko is stealing the show again, by hunting down the mysterious head of the AKB0048. The mysterious Quadruple S or Sensei Sensei is probably the thing in the temple that keeps coming up. It is weird that all the songs would come from something in a temple, but the manager considers the lyric holy so why not. I wish that we had found out a bit more about this temple especially since they also went into all the centers mysteriously disappearing in the middle of performances. I have to wonder if it has anything to do with Sensei Sensei.
Third Lesson: If you investigate certain things they will steal your bellybutton.
The whole gang of Tomos was super creepy. Why would they want to marry guys that looked like they do? I know they want to pass the name and personality down the line, but giving up who they are just for an idol position. All those books and little quirks to memorize to be like someone long dead doesn’t make sense. No one would even remember if Tomo in the past had bad taste in food. What if one of them couldn’t cut it as an idol? Then she would have given up her personality and wouldn’t even have her own look. Her failure would be staring her in the face everyday.
Fourth Lesson: The easiest way to become an idol is to wipe away all traces of your own personality.
This episode is mostly about getting to know some of the successors. The successors in general seem to have more personality than the main cast. Must be because they have real people to take the personality from instead of making it up themselves. Also got to see that the star in the hair and eyes seems to mean that the person has graduated from being an idol.
Do they all really need to look in the mirro to brush their teeth?
