The 0H Game Jam is a lesser-known competition. However it is also a different type of game jam that should be fostered. It is not a multi-day game event. It is a rush to see just how someone can code and design on the fly. The best writers know that fast writing that you review later is some of your best writing. Perhaps the same can be said for indie gaming.
The Rules of the oh Game Jam, wait, what?
We went to check out the rules of the 0h game jam. We were a little distressed to find the above picture. So basically, if we understand this right, finish a game outside the contest and present it as your finished game. As long as it’s close enough to what people saw you making, that’s fine. You say that sounds shady? Well, there are no rules, so it’s totally fine.
The Facts of the 0h Game Jam
Okay so, there are some guidelines to follow. The only one is that you have to make it between 2:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. when the clock shifts. That means that you have around an hour to make a game. Hence the zero hour game jam name. This means that some games will be a buggy mess. Others will be excessively simple. But it is also possible that someone will put forth a superhuman effort and become a rising star. The Bruce Lee of Indie Games, so to speak.

It looks like from now on we will be seeing jams of every type. This is a nice response to how bloated most of the video game industry has become.
