Terraria 1.1 basic guide

Terraria 1.1 slimer feature

The long awaited Terraria 1.1 update is out and this guide will eventually contain information on crafting the new items, new enemies, and everything else that has happened in Terraria 1.1.

New Terraria 1.1 NPCs

Terraria 1.1′s Mechanic: The mechanic is inside the dungeon. Defeat Skeletron and go inside to find her. After you have found her she can show up at your house.  You can buy new items like wire, wire cutters, wrenches, levers, all different colors of pressure plates, and switch from the engineer.

Wizard: Must be saved from the dungeon or caves underground. He sells Ice Rod, Greater Mana Potion, Bell, Harp, Music Box, Spell Tome, and Crystal Ball.

New Features

  • Housing: You can now press a button in your inventory that looks like a house and then you are able to check a room to see if it will attract NPCs. If the room is lacking something it will tell you what you need. This also allows you to assign NPCs to rooms. When you are done click the house again to exit.

    Nice compilation.
A tip: install a bunny spawner and some pressure plates in a deep pit, then connect the plates randomly to coloured torches with wires. Make the bunny spawner connected to a switch, and then activate that switch. When the bunnies spawn, they keep jumping in the pit on the plates, so they’ll help you do some nice blinking torch effects.

Yeah, we’re trying to get all the statues together. We’ve found quite a few. Dynamite is also quite useful with the new wiring systems.

Make sure you either have rocket boots or some type of wings. Brings some friends if possible. Also make sure you are using a gun of some sort. The basic strategy is to keep your health up with potions while moving away from him. If you want to be really safe, make a huge platform of ash in two directions before fighting him. That will keep you from falling into lava.

(:i need help on defeating skeletron prime, twins, destroyer:)
    can i have help please

For any of these, create a long expanse of dirt to run along. If you want even more maneuverability, make it two levels. Then just dodge using this massive expanse. Be sure to make some regen and greater health potions, and get some way to fly or move around well such as the wings. It is much harder just using the grappling hook.

Skeletron prime attacks by slinging or firing his arms, and you can jump or fly over most arms or attacks. Try to destroy his arms to make it easier. The twins will rush you, quite a bit. You will just need to avoid it as best you can until they move away. Destroyer has sections which you can destroy, never let his orbitals pile up and do not get hit by him directly.

If all else fails, simply find some people to play with who can help you.
