Maoyuu Maou Yuusha episode 4 introduces corn into the Demon King’s plan and reveals what she plans to do with the Merchant’s Guild.
The Demon King’s plan for the Merchant’s Guild in Maoyuu Maou Yuusha went close to the way that I thought it would. She is giving the Merchant’s Guild a new source of money, so they will not strongly support the war. Instead of relying on soldiers spending money on their goods and food they would rely on towns that would need everything from the merchants besides the corn. I do not see how that would be good for the people involved in the towns growing the corn. The guild would surely charge them way too much to get all the goods out there to them. In this situation the Demon King must be thinking of the masses rather than the lives of the corn farmers.
Hero’s feelings about being useless make a lot of sense. Hero went from being a hero to being the white swordsman who is the sidekick to the Demon King’s character. Since she does not do anything that could use a swordsman there is not anything he can really add to what is going on. At least going into the demon world and keeping things in line he will have a purpose. Most men do not want to be kept by their women especially not active guy like Hero was. Hopefully he will not keep his feelings in forever though. Watching their relationship stagnate like this is boring.
Southern lands feel obligated to fight due to the pressure of the central nations and their financial obligations. At least one nation is ready to give it all up since the people now have a lot of food available to them. If the central nations did not hold the purse strings and other nations were not dancing to their tune the war might be over. I have to wonder how the Demon King plans on handling the money situation for the southern nations. If the food is not enough to have them abandon the war when their people are dying then when will they have enough? If the White Night country is willing to risk it all because the central nations encourage it, then are they really only driven by money?
Well that is a very harsh way to view breasts. The demons have such weird beliefs.
