Listen to me, Girls. I am your Father! is about a college student named Yuuta that takes in three girls that belonged to his sister. Unfortunately rather than this story being in any way touching it is more disturbing.
Listen t0 me, Girls. I am your Father! has a story that follows the loss of the girls’ parents and the difficulties that the family has trying to make their new situation work. Unfortunately this situation does not seem at all likely because the girls treat Yuuta like a criminal or pervert at every opportunity. If they didn’t trust him and were so uncomfortable living with him then why would they want to continue the situation? Also why would he want to continue a situation that involves him getting kicked out of his own home regularly and never being able to use the restroom. He should have logically returned the girls after the first day. Especially after the family offered to take them in as a group instead of splitting them up.
The character designs for Listen to me, Girls. I am your Father! are a problem as well. They all are very similar to other characters from recent anime. I wish they had tried to make them more distinctive, instead I have to wonder why Haruhi is in love with some bland college guy.
The personalities in for the little girls in Listen to me, Girls. I am your Father! are so annoying. Sora, Miu, and Hina are the worst part of the show, which makes it hard to feel bad for their situation. They are all very spoiled and demanding when they should be more grateful and respectful. I understand they are young girls going through a difficult time, but Yuuta is not having a good time either and they are making this all so hard on him. Whenever I saw one of the college characters rather than the girls I would breath a sigh of relief.
The best part of this show was the college cast. Raika, Kouichi, and even Shuntarou made an episode they were in better. Raika made the show though. Her quirkiness was the thing to actually make this show semi interesting. She even made the girls nicer when she was around. Shuntarou had the funniest moment in the show for me though when he said that Sora was a grandma.
Overall despite throwing in the romance with Raika Listen to me, Girls. I am your Father! comes off as a college guy raising the perfect wife. I would not be surprised if I looked at the manga and saw an ending like that. All the fanservice with the girls and the crush the girls all seem to have on Yuuta just isn’t appropriate.
Score: 1/5
Raika’s Score: I would do her / 5
