The Tragic end of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Phantom Blood

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Author Araki rarely wrote sad endings. This episode and the original chapter truly stand out. They are undeniably tragic events. So let us move on to this sad and somewhat poignant section.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 9 Honeymoon

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 9 Dio my body has arrived

The Rundown of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 9

Jojo and Erina are on their honeymoon on a ship. Of course Dio is such a big jerk that he cannot let them be happy. He stows away aboard the ship. He is carried by his Kung-fu manservant Wang Chung. Wang Chung also creates zombies on the ship.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 9 Last Ripple

Dio manages to fatally wound JoJo in the opening moments of the fight. Jojo uses the last of his Hamon and life to make Wang Chung jam up the ship gears. This triggers a boiler explosion.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 9 Erina Jojo

Jojo then uses the second last bits of his life (?) to save Erina from shrapnel. Erina escapes with another woman’s baby and a life inside her.

Erina escapes in Dio’s coffin. How Dio survives without it is not explained. They briefly mention it in three. However that explanation in three doesn’t make sense either. One of the few plot holes in early Jojos.

She is, for some reason, much less upset about the events than she should be. However that is how it originally went. Even in the source material this chapter was bizarre.

Dio wins in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 9

What is most tragic about this one is that Dio basically wins. He gets Jonathan’s body. Few of the good guys get to have their happy ending. As we all know, he is the villain of three as well. This is one of two major points where the villain actually wins.

Surprisingly bloody and true to the original

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 9 is quite admirable in that it is every bit as jarring as the original. We really appreciate that they did this. This episode also stands out as not being as hokey as the others. It is genuinely quite sad, as it should be.

Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Episode 9 Art Problems

A decline in the art of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Episode 9

I’m a bit afraid the art is declining. Some of the zombies looked terrible. Hopefully this won’t be a trend in series 2. However everyone is expecting more there. They will have to make it better and not worse.

Excited for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure series 2

Series 2 is the favorite of many people. Four is my absolute favorite but 2 is great as well.  We will be covering it as well, so stay with us.
