Ano Natsu de Matteru is a story about a boy making a movie during his summer vacation.
In the first episode of Ano Natsu de Matteru, the main character is preparing to make a movie over the summer. He is checking his film when a large object falls into the water near him and knocks him off his perch. When he wakes up it all seems like a dream.
At school, Kaito talks to his friends about what his movie should be about when suddenly he sees a new girl and starts filming her without noticing it. This leads to his friends teasing him about her and trying to get her for the movie.
I guess it shouldn’t be surprising considering this writer has the same character designer and writer as Onegai Teacher, but Ano Natsu de Matteru has a lot of similarities with Onegai Teacher. The designs for the characters are very similar with the character of Remon being exactly the same as Ichigo except with the hair pulled back.
She even has the same voice actress. Hopefully the show won’t be as similar to Onegai Teacher as the designs and first few minutes of the show lead me to believe. If it is fresh enough this will probably be one of my favorites since I liked Onegai Teacher.
Remon looks very familiar to me.
Ano Natsu de Matteru is pretty slow right now with them spending a good portion of the time deciding what to do for the movie. Hopefully once the gets started and the relationships heat up this series will be more exciting. I did find it funny how Kaito could not tell the difference between his fantasies and reality though.
Overall I don’t dislike the story or art so far even if they feel kind of familiar.
Status: Watching. I love romance stories.
