Tari Tari is the only anime with an original story for the summer season, but that may be the only thing original about it.
Tari Tari starts by showing what everyone is doing before school. It introduces the problem that Miyamoto is tired of turning pages for the pianist and wants to sing. After showing everyone there is the party for the teacher departing on maternity leave. Then Miyamoto goes to the teacher running the choir about wanting to sing and is rejected due to something in the past. This leads to Miyamoto wanting to start a new choir club. The rest of the episode mostly revolves around Miyamoto trying to get people to join the club.
We have another gathering a club together show here. So far it is not horrible, but it is not great either. There was some potential I saw in a few things like Miyamoto yelling into the water at her teacher and the pregnant teacher talking about what might happen when Sakai and Miyamoto get together.
The characters in Tari Tari so far seem pretty bland except for Wien and he is only interesting because he is so clueless about Japan. Miyamoto is the pushy girl that is the driving force behind the club. Okita is a pushover who goes along with Miyamoto even if it is not what she wants. Sakai has some hidden issues with singing despite being a music student. Those will surely come up later. Tanaka apparently has a thing for hopeless causes. They will probably reveal in some big dramatic fashion about some sempai or girl he liked that was part of the badmitton club that he will not let go of despite being the only member. Makes me wonder how it can even be a club anymore since you have to have five people.
The visuals for the show are quite beautiful especially the backgrounds. The character designs are pretty similar to other shows though. At first they may not be that easy to distinguish from each other either since they are pretty realistic looking.
Overall aside from the visuals this show is pretty average. Hopefully it will become better with time since this episode was mostly about introducing the characters.
