First Impressions: Listen to me, Girls, I am your Father

Listen to Me Girls I am your Father

Listen to me, Girls, I am your Father is a show about a college freshman who becomes a guardian to his sister’s child and stepchildren.

In the very beginning of Listen to me, Girls, I am your Father there are no girls at all. Yuuta is starting college and goes to a party for a club. At the party he passes out and when he wakes up there is a creepy guy shining a light down on him accusing Yuuta of things.

This turns out to be false, but leads to Yuuta meeting his roommate and Raika. Then just when you might wonder where the girls are they appear. The rest of the show switches between snatches of Yuuta’s college life and learning about the girls.

The first thing I thought when I saw this show is that all the character designs for the little girls seem familiar. The easiest one to point out is the girl with the same hairstyle as Haruhi. Also every time I look at the littlest girl I can’t help thinking she looks like Ash’s new sidekick in Pokemon Black and White. The other one reminds me of something too, but not quite as strongly. This was not the best first impression I could have for this series.

I only enjoyed the parts about college, but not the parts with the little girls. I like the roommate that takes care of Yuuta and the weird senpai girl. If they just threw the girls out of the series I would like it better already. Then out of nowhere they show that the oldest of the girls likes Yuuta and I am enraged. It wasn’t enough to make this show another guy magically gets a ton of daughters show, but they also have to have an underage love interest. Which is proven with inappropriate fanservice later in the show.

The worst part about this show is that I would watch it in a heartbeat if it were just about him going after his senpai. I love Raika. She is quirky, fun, and the best part of this show for me. If only I could just pull her out of this show and into a good show.

Status: Only watching for Raika. I would not recommend this show for people disturbed by underage fanservice or anyone.

If you still want to watch this show it is streaming on Crunchyroll.
