ETHER VAPOR Remaster has been a classic Doujin game for some time now. We have decided to bring you a preview of the review version of ETHER VAPOR Remaster.

What is new about ETHER VAPOR Remaster?

The most significant addition is the fact that the graphics are completely redone. While the original was quite fun, some players were turned off by some of the missing textures. This time around they have really cracked down and gotten everything right. The textures are all there in a higher quality, with new explosions.

ETHER VAPOR Remaster Story

A new way to handle the story

The original game had a story which was not phenomenal. ETHER VAPOR Remaster allows you to simply cut out most of the story by having the option to skip or eliminate it entirely. This is a logical choice for the game, as the gameplay is the most important part as usual.

ETHER VAPOR Remaster Perspective Changes

The bosses in this game will use your vision against you, as you can see here.

The main reason to play ETHER VAPOR Remaster

This game is a must-play for any hardcore shmup fan. This is for one reason, it is because it does things with perspective other games are scared to do. Your perspective shifts from top down, to the side and everywhere in between. While this has been done before, no other game does it as effectively. The shift is used to disorient you during boss fights and make them harder.

Indeed, the bosses themselves shift into areas that can only be hit by lock-on. This makes most battles very challenging. You truly have to understand the full depth of 3D battles in order to survive. If you have played the original, you know what we are talking about. If you have not played it, then you are in luck because you will see some very interesting battles. We certainly enjoyed them, but then we also played the original.

The game also includes traditional play perspectives.

Hands-on with ETHER VAPOR Remaster

Our current copy of the game is quite similar to the older game. However it is quite nice and the game flows well. The graphics are quite impressive for a doujin game as well. For those who did not play the original, you will likely be very impressed with this new version. The control is tight, and we had no difficulty in controlling our ship well. While that sounds basic, any seasoned shmup player knows that control is vital. The graphics look great, including the cinematic scenes. Finally, there are online leaderboards which is also something essential in this modern age.

ETHER VAPOR Remaster is coming soon

At the time of this writing, the game is slated to come out on June 29th and you can get it here. Be sure to check out the official site of Edelweiss, the Nyu-Media site and look for the game soon. It should be relatively affordable as well, so you should not miss out on this if you are a hardcore shmup fanatic.
