For AKBoo48 Episode 2 we get to see the opening for the first time. It is full of the horrible CG this anime likes to use for when the idols perform. The idols all have a time in the spotlight. Suddenly when you are least expect it is sad idols in opening. They have all the girls crying including one girl nude and crying. Why does this show love tears so much?
In the beginning the group that we saw most of the first episode are traveling to their audition. There is also a mysterious girl with a kirara wandering around.
Being an idol is nothing, but sadness.
After the opening of AKB0048 Episode 2 they show a girl freaking out over having to travel by spaceship to the audition. This doesn’t make much sense except this girl freaks out about everything. Did she think that idols that travel the whole universe weren’t going to travel on spaceships? Did she think she could just be a member that only does gigs on her own planet? Obviously she is going to make it because she has the eyes and hair for the part, but this girl is getting old fast.
Seriously what is up with the pig outfit? It even has a curly tail.
Then the crew is looking for a stowaway and the girl with green hair and glasses runs into her. The stowaway is dressed like a pig and talks about herself in the third person. She also seems very certain that she is going to make it into AKB because she gives the girl with glasses her autograph. There should be no way that girl who already failed should be able to pass the audition, but she has the proper hair so she obviously will. I can understand why the girl would need to stowaway though. These are all thirteen and fourteen-year-old girls the only reason so many of these runaways make it is the free tickets.
Well Suzuko is prepared if Makoto doesn't pass the auditions.
Then the girls who are auditioning all meet up and eat together. While they are eating they find out their old friend has gone missing and should be aboard the ship. They go looking for her and find the mysterious person who talks about seeing all the other girls going to audition as rivals. At this point my favorite idol hopeful is Suzuko. She is cold, but informed. The funniest moment was when she took a picture of Makoto while they were eating because she just might be the first person to get dropped during the auditions.
There is a scene at the temple where a priestess is talking about the girls coming and the temple just talks about tears. The temple is obviously hungering for the girls’ tears. All their awesome gear must run on idol tears. I am joking, but seriously tears is coming up as a theme too often.
Finally what we have all been waiting for the mecha attack the ship looking for the applicants for AKB0048. There are live rounds being used on a civilian ship to get unarmed young teenage girls. Despite that the DES does not manage to get a single girl. These guys have to be the worst trained military. I also like how they automatically focus on the girls in question. I wonder if they notice the heart hair in canon as well. Training must tell them if they see a girl with a heart in her hair to shoot and not ask questions. Also one of the guys in a powersuit holding an unarmed average strength girl somehow can’t keep ahold of her. My mind is just blown.
The guy holding Nagisa must have been given a hard time later.
Overall once again hilarious and I can’t wait to see what they are going to do next, but not the best of shows.
